Fluidic Chips
Precision Flowcells, Microfluidic Chips, and Microwell Plates
At BioNexus, we design, prototype, develop, and manufacture advanced fluidic chips tailored for cutting-edge applications in genomics, proteomics, cell biology, diagnostics, and beyond. Whether you’re a biotech startup pushing assay innovation or an established life science company scaling production, we help turn your concepts into reliable, manufacturable microfluidic solutions.
Types of Fluidic Chips We Typically Develop
Our portfolio includes a wide variety of chip formats, custom-engineered for your application:
- Laminate Microfluidic Chips (3–7 Layers): Built using precision-structured PSA layers and bonded to glass or polymer substrates. Ideal for prototyping and low-to-mid volume production.
- Injection-Molded Chips: High-quality, cost-efficient chips for production scale, featuring custom fluidic geometries and robust port designs for automation compatibility. We design for injection molding and work with one of our injection molding parters to execute quickly, with quality.
- Custom Flow Cells: Designed for high-sensitivity fluorescence microscopy or imaging applications. Available using precision glass (e.g., Schott D263) or polymer materials, ultra-flat geometries, and channel patterns tailored to your optics.
- Custom 96 Well Plates: Designed to be ultra flat for fluoresence microscopy, with custom chemistry or microstructuring.
- Multichannel Chips & Manifolds: Enable high-throughput processing with uniform fluid delivery. Often integrated with liquid handlers or robotic workflows.
- Advanced Functional Chips: Including embedded surface patterning, hydrogel regions, micro/nano-scale structures (e.g., pillars, wells), and passive wicking features for handling viscous or biological samples.

Integration Capabilities
We specialize in end-to-end system integration, ensuring your chip fits seamlessly into your platform:
- Standard Fluidics Integration: Pumps, Valves, Tubes, and Sensors.
- Liquid Handler Compatibility: Chips designed to align and seal reliably with automated pipettors and robotic dispensing systems. We validate all critical parameters for alignment, sealing, and fluid transfer.
- Surface Chemistry Integration: Patterned or uniform chemistries (e.g., PEG, polyoxazoline, silane-based layers) for biomolecule capture, passivation, or hydrophilic/hydrophobic tuning—implemented directly on the chip during fabrication.
- Custom Connectors & Interfaces: Rapid prototyping of fluidic connectors and manifolds for instrument compatibility, including novel porting and sealing designs.
- Electrochemical & Optical Integration: Chips can be designed to host electrodes or optical paths for real-time sensing, detection, and control.
End-to-End: Prototyping to Production
From napkin sketch to production launch, BioNexus supports every stage:
- Rapid Prototyping: Fast turnaround cycles using in-house fabrication tools (laser cutters, CNCs, 3D printers, adhesive bonding systems).
- Metrology & QC: Automated inspection of dimensional features, leak/pressure testing, surface flatness, and bonding strength to ensure quality at each stage.
- Manufacturing to support R&D, V&V, Pilot, and Commercial Launch: In-house production for 10–500+ units/month and growing capabilities for 10,000+ units/month scale-ups and beyond.
